This Standard specifies the range of fineness , hallmark, determination method of precious metal alloys used in jewellery, designation of precious metal jewellery.
This Standard is applicable to the jewellery industry and the jewellery produced and sold in domestic market.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Standard, the following definitions apply
3.1 Fineness
Minimum content of the named precious metal, measured in terms of parts per thousand by weight of alloy
3.2 Marking
Hallmark which marked on precious metals jewellery
3.3 Mark
General terms of all instructions for identifying products as well as quality, quantities, characteristics and method of use.. Mark can be shown as characters, symbols, numbers, pattern and other types.
