1 Scope
This Standard specifies weld outer dimensions of welding joints for steel construction.
This Standard is applicable to the inspection of outer dimensions of fusion welded butt joints and corner joints for steel construction.

The following provisions contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, or Revised Edition do not apply. However, it is encouraged that every part of this standard to research the latest edition of these documents. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.

3 General
3.1 Before the inspection of weld outer dimensions, the weld and its both sides must be free from molten ashes, splash and other dirt.
3.2 The weld outer dimensions is inspected mainly with the naked eye as well as relevant auxiliary measuring device. Favorable lighting shall be guaranteed at inspection.
3.3 The groove form and dimension of weld shall meet relevant provisions of GB/T 985 and GB/T 986.
3.4 The weld outer dimensions shall be labeled according to the relevant provisions of GB/T 324.
