3 Sample preparations 3.1 Samples with natural water content shall be taken on site and blasting or wet drill method is strictly forbidden. Water content change in the process of sample taking, transportation, storage and preparation shall not exceed 1%. 3.2 The dimension of specimens shall be larger than the largest particle of the rock by 10 times and the mass of each specimen shall not less than 40g and not larger than 200g.Sample numbers of each set should be greater than or equal to 5. 3.3 Rock name, color, mineralogical composition, structure, construction, degree of weathering, agglutinate property and measures taken to maintain water containing of samples. 4 Test Procedures 4.1 Put the finished samples into the weighing box, which has been dried to the constant difference and weigh the mass of samples and weighing box before drying (m1). Weighing in this test is accurate to 0.01g. 4.2 Put the weighing box together with the sample into the dryer. rock free of crystal water shall be dried to the constant quantity at constant temperature 105℃~110℃ for 12h~ 24 h. rock with crystal water shall be dried to the constant quantity at constant temperature 60℃±5℃ for 24h~48h. |
