1. Scope

This standard specifies sampling-related terms, definitions, purposes, principles, solutions, technologies, security, note and report, sample containers, and preservation and calculation for a sampling test.

This standard is applicable to sampling of chemical products.

The following standards contain the provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute the provisions of the standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. For undated reference, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.

3. Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions specified in GB/T 4650 are applicable to the standard.

4. Sampling Purpose

The basic sampling purposes include collecting representative samples from the tested overall materials, getting data in allowable tolerance, so as to identify the average and variability of characteristics of the material.

The sampling purposes can be divided into the following categories, different purposes mean different requirements. The sampling purposes and requirements must be indicated, before working out sampling plan.
